You land in Kathmandu at Tribhuvan International Airport and our representatives will welcome you at the arrival gate. You’ll be transferred to our hotel where you will meet the guides and company staff. You get some information from the guide about the trip and you can prepare for the Kathmandu valley sightseeing the next day. Night stay in Kathmandu.
Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation
Today, you’ll visit the world heritage sites and the Newar communities in Kathmandu Valley. Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, and durbar squares are some of the most popular destinations you will visit. You can observe the Newar culture, lifestyle, and also try different Newar cuisines. You can visit the market areas during the tour and prepare for the trip. Night stay in Kathmandu.
Drive to Syabrubensi
You start your journey towards the Yala peak with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubensi. You’ll leave the hotel after an early breakfast and head North from Kathmandu. The drive goes through Dhunche village which takes you to the Trishuli River valley. You can relish the views of rivers, green hills, and Ganesh Himal ranges too. Along the Trishuli River, you head past Betrawati and descend to Syabrubensi.
Trek from Syabrubensi to Lama Hotel
Your trek begins from Syabrubensi as you follow the Bhote Koshi River flowing down from Tibet. You cross the river and then follow the Langtang River. You walk on the stone-paved trail then cross a suspension bridge. After you cross the bridge, the trail ascends gradually to Bamboo village. The trail ascends slowly to Rimche and you enter Lama Hotel for stay. Night stay in Lama Hotel.
Trek from Lama Hotel to Mundu
On the third day of the trek, you will be heading to Mundu village and explore the Langtang village. The trail ascends gradually from Lama Hotel and the altitude raise needs to be considered as some may feel altitude sickness. You pass many villages on the way to Mundu that are Gumanechok, Ghodatabela, Thangshyap, Chyamki, and finally Langtang village. The trek is accompanied by the panoramic views of the Himalayas like Ganesh Himal (7422m), Langtang Lirung (7227m), and Dorje Lakpa (6966m). After you explore Langtang village, you head to Mundu crossing a stream. Night stay in Mundu.
Trek from Mundu to Kyanjin Gompa
The trek starts after a nice breakfast crossing the beautiful Mani walls. The ascent is gradual and you cross many wooden bridges over small streams. This day’s trek is comparatively short and easy. You can enjoy the views of Langtang Lirung and Kinshung ranges from the Kyanjin village. You can visit the ancient Kyanjin Gompa in Kyanjin.
Explore Tserko Ri (4984m)
You explore Tserko Ri on the fifth day of the trek which also serves as an acclimatization trek. Your trek starts through a flat path but as you ascend towards the top, it gets steeper which is the hard part of this trek. You get nice 360 panoramic views of Langtang Lirung (7227m), Ganesh Himal (7422m), Naya Khang (5844m), Dorje Lakpa (6966m), and Shishapangma ranges. After you return to Kyanjin village, you can explore the Tamang village and enjoy the hospitality of the locals. Night stay in Kyanjin.
Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Yala Peak Base Camp (4600 m) Stay at tented camp
You take another adventurous trail towards Yala Peak by trekking to Yala Peak Base Camp. You walk through the rocky glacial trail to Yala Base Camp. From the Base Camp, you get nice views of Naya Khang (5844m), Tserko Ri (4984m), Ganchenpo, and Yala Peak ranges. A short training session will be conducted in the Base Camp and the guides will teach you the ways of using the climbing tools and equipment. Night stay in Yala Peak Base Camp.
Summit the Yala peak and trek back to Kyanjin Gompa
Finally, you head to the summit of the Yala Peak (5500m) on this day. You start early in the morning and follow the guide’s lead. You reach the summit in around 4 hours and relish the views of Shishapangma, Dorje Lakpa, Ganchenpo, Naya Kang, Tserko Ri, and Langtang ranges. You return to Base Camp after spending a short time at the summit. Then, you retrace your way back to Kyanjin Gompa and rest.
Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel (2340m)
As you start your return, you leave Kyanjin Gompa and head towards Lama Hotel. You follow the same trail you ascended crossing the wooden bridges over streams. You pass Mundu village and Langtang village where you can rest for a while. As you start descending, your knees may feel weak and it gets a bit hard to descend. But you get a lot of air as you head down to Lama Hotel. Night stay in Lama Hotel.
Trek from Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru Village (1,900m)
After breakfast, you descend towards Thulo Syabru village. First, you take a short descend to Briddhim village. The trail further descends towards the junction of the Langtang River and Bhote Koshi River. The trail goes through bamboo and rhododendron forests where you get to witness wild animals and birds. You take a steep climb from the confluence and get to Thulo Syabru village. Night stay in Thulo Syabru.
Trek from Thulo Syabru Village to Shin Gompa (3330m)
You start ascending once again and trek through dense rhododendron and pine forests to reach Shin Gompa. The trail is mostly uphill passing through Dursagang and Phorpang Danda. You can also enjoy the views of Langtang, Ganesh Himal, and Tibetan mountain ranges. Similarly, you can also explore the forested landscapes and visit the local cheese factory as you get to Shin Gompa. Night stay in Shin Gompa.
Trek from Shin Gompa to Gosainkunda Lake (4380m)
Next, you head to Gosainkunda Lake from Shin Gompa. You head to Lauribinayak Pass (4610m) at first from where you get nice panoramic views of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and Annapurna ranges in distant. Then, you descend to the first lake of Gosainkunda, Saraswati Kunda. Further, you head to Bhairav Kunda and other lakes to the main lake of Gosainkunda. Many Hindu pilgrims visit the lake on the full moon day in August. Night stay in Gosainkunda.
Trek from Gosainkunda to Dhunche (2030m)
You retrace your way back to Shin Gompa and then head to Dhunche. You descend to Dhimsa that takes you to Deurali after half an hour of walk. The trail heads further downhill and goes through forests. En route to Dhunche, you walk along the riverside through the jungle and go through several villages. Finally, you reach Dhunche and bring the trip to a close. Night stay in Dhunche.
Drive back to Kathmandu (1400m)
After breakfast, you leave Dhunche and drive back towards Kathmandu. After the tiring trek, the bus ride also feels tiring and as you reach Kathmandu, you’ll be transferred to our hotel where you can rest. Night stay in Kathmandu.
Departure from Kathmandu (1400m)
You’ll drive to Tribhuvan International Airport and our representative will be there to drop you. You’ll leave 3 hours before the scheduled time. If you have an interest in taking a tour or booking another trek, you can stay in Kathmandu.
