Shishapangma, the 14th-highest mountain in the world, stands as the only 8,000-meter peak entirely within Tibet. Known as “the god of the grasslands” in Tibetan, this majestic peak offers a relatively straightforward climb on its northern route with minimal objective hazards. First summited in 1964 by a Tibetan-Chinese expedition and opened to foreign climbers in 1978, Shishapangma’s Northwest Ridge provides a direct yet demanding route to its central summit, connected by a knife-edge ridge to the main summit.
